The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), in collaboration with the Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (UCMP), is set to host the 5th Annual National Content Conference from November 28 to 29, 2024, at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Held under the theme “Advancing National Content in the Oil and Gas Sector, Three Years After FID,” the conference will highlight Uganda’s progress since achieving Final Investment Decision (FID) in the oil and gas sector. It will provide a platform to showcase milestones, discuss opportunities, and address challenges in maximizing national content initiatives.
The keynote address will be delivered by Mr. Egbert Faibille Jnr, Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission of Ghana. Renowned for his leadership in promoting local content in Ghana’s oil and gas sector, Mr. Faibille is expected to share transformative insights and strategies that Uganda can adopt to foster sustainability, inclusivity, and economic empowerment in the sector.
Speaking about the event, Ms. Gloria Sebikari, Manager of Corporate Affairs at the PAU, emphasized the significance of the conference:
“The 5th Annual National Content Conference is a platform for fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and ensuring Uganda’s oil and gas sector benefits all stakeholders. With participation from local and international experts, we aim to enhance national content initiatives and secure sustainable development.”
Showcasing Progress and Collaboration
The conference will feature discussions on Uganda’s achievements in the oil and gas industry over the past three years, focusing on how local participation has evolved and the impact on communities and businesses. It will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, private sector players, and academia to share best practices and align strategies for maximizing benefits from the oil and gas sector.
